Liisa Rush liisarush@classicaled.orgLiisa Rush is an artist and educator in art. She received her BA (clay emphasis) from GVSU, and has exhibited some of her work in clay at two local galleries. She recently changed her focus, and enrolled at Kendall College of Art and Design in Illustration to fine tune her painting skills. Her watercolor entitled “Budapest Minstrels” and her oil painting entitled “Red Gun” were accepted into the 2008 80th Regional Exhibition at the Muskegon Museum of Art. “Red Gun” was also chosen to be in the annual 2009 Society of Illustrators Student Competition in New York City in which 144 entries were accepted out of 5,600. Recently she entered ArtPrize 2009, and is exhibiting her painting "Imaginarium" at the B.O.B. in downtown Grand Rapids from September 15- October 10, 2009. She is currently working on her portfolio for admittance into the Master’s program at Kendall College of Art and Design. Liisa began teaching children at Kendall. She homeschooled her eldest son, taught painting and drawing classes at the Homeschool Building, and has held private sessions and workshops over the years in clay, photography, and drawing.
